Austrian Ariane Cap is a bassist, pianist, educator, author, blogger, writer and composer living in California. An eclectic and versatile musician, she has covered many styles, live and in the studio. Collaborators include Grammy award-winning producer Keith Olsen, finger style guitar virtuoso Muriel Anderson, German flamenco duo Tierra Negra, Celtic rock band Tempest, Austrian funk artists The Mozart Band, Latin disco stars Generation Esmeralda, kindie rock sensation The Sippy Cups and Cirque du Soleil. As a leader, Ariane has teamed up with innovative jazz bassoonist Paul Hanson to create the critically-acclaimed chamber jazz duo, OoN. Her education includes diverse institutions such as the Academy of Music in Vienna, Austria, and the University of Miami, as well as inspiring studies with Victor Wooten, Steve Bailey, Kai Eckhardt, Michael Manring, Carol Kaye and Chuck Rainey. Ein absolutes "must have" Buch für Bassistinnen und Bassisten mit E-Bass (nicht Stehbass). Für Beginner (wie ich einer bin) sehr gut geeignet, um die Musiktheorie (Harmonielehre) mit dem Praktischen (Fingertechnik, Patterns, Musik spielen) zu verbinden. Ariane zeigt hier sehr viele wertvolle Tips und Tricks auf dem E-Bass, die jeder angehenden Bassistin und jedem angehenden Bassisten weiterhelfen auf dem Weg zur perfekten Fretboardkoordination. Hinzu kommen die sehr informativen und kurzweiligen Kurzvideos (Arianes bass bits for the brave) auf Arianes Webseite. Einfach Klasse, dieses Buch, ich würde es sogar jedem BasslehrerIn weiterempfehlen. ABER: Üben, üben und nochmals üben macht letztendlich die Bassistin oder den Bassisten! Ariane motiviert, inspiriert, ist professionell, schlicht eine Superbassistin und eine sehr charmante Frau, die ich gerne einmal persönlich kennenlernen würde.
I have read quiet a lot of book about music theory and this is by far the best as long as we look for what a bass player needs.The book starts from the very beginning of bass playing, but even after many years of playing the bass, I still got great new insights from this book and learned a lot form it. I wish I had gotten this book when I started playing many years ago.Ich habe schon viele Bücher über das Bassspiel und über Musiktheorie. Aber bis jetzt habe ich nur zwei wirklich Gute gefunden. Das eine ist "Harmonienlehre wirklich verstehen" vom Wolfgang Meffert (für die Gitarre) und das andere ist dieses Buch. Während Wolfgang Meffert die physikalischen Grundlagen der Harmonie besser erklärt, ist dieses Buch hier das praktischere. Bass lernen und Musiktheorie verstehen gehen Hand in Hand. Ich spiele schon viele Jahre Bass und habe noch eine Menge von diesem Buch lernen können, obwohl das Buch mit dem Erlenen des Bassspiels bei Null beginnt. Für mich wäre es sehr hilfrecih gewesemn, dieses Buch schon früher gahbt zu haben.
Ariane Cap ist eine "der großen" Bassisten unserer Zeit, die neben einem unvergleichlichen Bassspiel es auch wie wenige versteht, ihr Wissen an Einsteiger und Fortgeschrittene zu vermitteln. Dieses Buch und die damit verbundenen Video-Tutorials bieten einen unvergleichlichen Start in die Musik-Theorie. Unbedingte Kaufempfehlung.
This is probably the best book for bass theory around today! And Ariane has also released a very nice course on her web site to work through the different aspects of the book as if she was teaching it to you on a weekly basis with "Practice with me" and Groove lessons from the very beginning.This method of learning bass is the best at enabling the beginner and advanced bassist to be flexible and create your own grooves.
Das Buch mit den Videobeispielen ergibt einen perfekten Übungsmaterial. Als ein Anfänger bietet mir das Buch Herausforderungen an, welche ich beweltigen muss -- aber ich sehe den Sinn dahinter.Neben Musiktheorie hat das Buch einige Übungstipps am Ende, welche man am Anfang lesen sollte.
Das Buch sammelt wesentliche Sachen, die man als Bassist in Sachen Musiktheorie wissen muss. Mehr nicht. Es ist eine gute Grundlage. Wer fortgeschrittenes Theoriewissen sucht, wird in diesem Buch nicht fündig.
Gut strukturiertes Lernmittel, auch für mich als langjährigen Bassisten. Theorie zur Repetition, Uebungsbeispiele und auch neue Lerrmethoden. Ich arbeite jetzt ca einen Monat damit und es gibt immer wieder neue Inputs und Lernanreize. Empfehlenswert.
Exzellentes Buch um Musiktheorie und Harmonielehre direkt am Bass zur Anwendung zu bringen. Das Buch ist in Englisch aber auch für normale Kenntnisse verständlich.
